Billing FAQ

How the trial, the first charge, refunds, and plan changes actually work. The short version: 14 days free on every plan, cancel during the trial and you pay nothing, and a full refund within 7 days of the first charge if you change your mind, no questions asked.

01

The 14-day free trial

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial of the full product. We collect a card at signup but do not charge it during the trial. The first charge lands on day 15. Until then, Settings → Billing shows how many trial days are left and the exact date of the first charge, so there are no surprises.

02

Canceling during the trial

Cancel any time before day 15 from Settings → Billing and the first charge never happens; you owe nothing. Cancellation is self-serve, two clicks, no email round-trip and no retention script. You can pick a plan again any time to come back.

03

The 7-day refund

If you are charged and change your mind, you can request a full refund within 7 calendar days of your first charge, no questions asked, even if you have used the product. The refund is self-serve: while you are inside the window, a Request a refund control appears on Settings → Billing. The full amount goes back to your original payment method (card refunds typically settle in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank), and your paid access ends when the refund is issued.

If the button is unavailable, email support@pulsesignal.co and we handle it the same way. Statutory consumer rights, for example the EU and UK cooling-off rights, always apply on top of this policy. The complete policy, including what falls outside the 7-day window, is at /refund-policy.

04

Upgrades and downgrades

Plan changes happen in the billing portal: open Settings → Billing and click Manage subscription to launch the secure Polar customer portal.

  • Upgrades are prorated automatically: you are charged the prorated difference for the remainder of the current cycle and the new plan’s limits apply immediately.
  • Downgrades take effect at your next billing date. You keep the current plan until then; no credit is issued for the remainder of the period.

Compare what each tier includes on the pricing page.

05

Monthly vs annual

Every plan is available monthly or annual. Annual plans are billed for 12 months up front at a 17% discount over paying monthly. Annual is the default at checkout; switch to monthly with the toggle if you prefer. The 14-day trial is identical either way.

06

Invoices, payment methods, and tax

Billing runs through Polar, our Merchant of Record. Past invoices, the upcoming renewal amount, and the card on file all live in the Polar customer portal, reached via Manage subscription on the billing page. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Invoicing for annual plans is available on request: email hello@pulsesignal.co.

Polar handles EU VAT, UK VAT, and US sales tax automatically. Add your VAT number to the billing address in the customer portal to remove VAT on EU B2B invoices.

07

Canceling a paid plan

Cancel any time from the same portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then. Monthly plans simply stop billing at the next cycle. Annual plans run until the end of the prepaid term; after the 7-day refund window, the remaining time is not refunded, so check the refund policy before an annual purchase if you are unsure.

Anything this page does not answer goes to support@pulsesignal.co; we reply within one business day.
